What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 15:00 to 19:00, while the check-out must be done before 10:30

Is it possible to arrive outside the check-in times?
If you cannot arrive within the scheduled times, please notify us by phone; in front of the reception you will find an envelope with your name, keys and directions to reach your room.
There will also be a contact telephone number for any emergencies.

Is there a luggage storage service in case of early arrival or late departure?
If you need to leave your luggage due to early arrival or late departure, you can leave it with our staff during the reception opening hours.

What are the reception opening hours?
The reception is open from 9:00-13:00 and from 15:00-19:00, if you arrive outside of these hours please notify us.

Is there a bar service available?
During the reception opening hours our staff will be happy to serve you coffee or fresh drinks.

Is there parking available?
Our farmhouses that make up the Poderi Arcangelo Holiday Farm are located on a hill in front of San Gimignano, in a very quiet location, all the facilities are equipped with unattended private outdoor parking.

Is it possible to take animals with me? What size?
Our Holiday Farm is Pet Friendly and 4-legged friends, up to 8 kg in weight, are welcome.
Pets are allowed in the accommodation and in some of the common areas for an extra charge.

Is there babysitting available?
On request, guests can take advantage of a babysitting service.
Is it possible to rent scooters and bicycles

On request we can make use of an external service for the rental of bicycles, mountain bikes, motorbikes and scooters Does the Holiday Farm have Wi-Fi?
Poderi Arcangelo guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi in all the rooms and common areas.

What services are included in the B&B accommodation?
Unlimited access to the WI-FI and dedicated parking for each building; during the opening months, from March to October, your stay includes a delicious sweet and savoury buffet breakfast with typical products; access to the swimming pool of the house where you are staying;
For those staying on Saturday, you will have the opportunity to participate in the free tastings of products from our farm.

How many rooms does the Holiday Farm have?
The Poderi Arcangelo Holiday Farm is a complex of three farmhouses located on a hill in front of San Gimignano. The Holiday Farm complex, composed of the three buildings, has 30 rooms of different types and 8 apartments. We are therefore confident that we can offer you the most suitable accommodation for your needs

Are there any rooms with a view?
The three farmhouses that make up the Poderi Arcangelo holiday farm are surrounded by greenery and almost all the rooms and apartments enjoy a beautiful view of the hills of Siena.

Do the bathrooms have a bathtub or shower?
The bathrooms are equipped with comfortable shower cubicles

Are there family rooms or connected rooms?
The Poderi Arcangelo Holiday Farm has different types of rooms and apartments which are perfectly suited to families, who will certainly be able to find the ideal accommodation.

Up to what age do children stay for free?
Children under one year old do not pay if they sleep with their parents, there are cots available on request, for a supplementary fee.

Are there cots available for children?
At Poderi Arcangelo Holiday Farm there are cots available on request at reception for a small supplement.

Do you have rooms adapted for disabled travellers?
Some rooms at Poderi Arcangelo are on the ground floor and therefore suitable for disabled travellers, but as we are located on top of a hill, movement and access to some services can be difficult.
The farmhouses, which were recently renovated, are not equipped with an elevator because during the renovation we decided to respect the architectural features of the structures which date back to the late 19th century.

Do you have rooms for smokers?
Smoking is not allowed in the rooms.

Are the rooms air-conditioned?
All the rooms in our farmhouses have air conditioning

Is it possible to tune in to international television channels?
All the rooms have LCD televisions and in addition to the Italian language channels, there is a channel available in English, one in French and one in German.

What are the opening times of the restaurant and what kind of catering is on offer?
The restaurant is open for dinner every day from the 1st of June to the end of September. In October and from March to May service is confirmed for at least 10 people. From November to February it is only open during bank holiday weekends and public holidays.
At 20:00 guests can taste typical Tuscan cuisine, with a set menu consisting of four courses prepared by the expert hands of Mrs. Maria.

Is it possible to have lunch at the Poderi?
The restaurant is open only for dinner, but on request for guests spending the day by the pool we can organize a light lunch.

Are tastings organised?
The Poderi Arcangelo Holiday Farm is also an Organic farm. We are producers of Extra virgin olive oil and Organic wine, on Saturday afternoons we offer our guests a free tasting of our products. On the other days it is possible to book private wine tastings with visit to the cellar or complete wine tours with a walking tour of our vineyards, according to availability.

Are there theme dinners or food and wine events? Can people who are not staying at the Holiday Farm also have dinner in the restaurant?
Mrs. Maria is the queen of the kitchen and offers, upon reservation, personalized or themed lunches and dinners, with special menus for special occasions or for groups of friends who like to share the pleasures of good food.
Under the ancient vaulted ceiling of the dining room in Casa Capezzano or on the beautiful panoramic outdoor terrace, or among the vineyards of the farm, authentic dishes from typical Tuscan cuisine are served that will make your experience unique and unforgettable.

What time is breakfast served?
Breakfast is served from 8:00 to 10:00.

Is breakfast included in the price?
During the opening period, from March to October, all our room rates are inclusive of breakfast.

Do you offer menus for vegetarians and vegans?
The Poderi Arcangelo Holiday Farm is attentive to the dietary needs of its guests, with vegetarian and vegan menus available on request.

Do you offer children’s menus?
The restaurant provides and prepares children’s menus upon prior request to the staff.

Are there high chairs for children available in the dining room?
Yes, the restaurant has high chairs for children.

How many swimming pools does the Poderi Arcangelo Holiday Farm have?
The Poderi Arcangelo Holiday Farm is composed of three farmhouses located on the same hill, 500 metres from each other.
Each farmhouse has its own panoramic swimming pool surrounded by greenery.
Casa Capezzano, a late 19th century farmhouse has an infinity pool measuring 8 x 16 metres with a depth ranging from 90 to 230 cm.
Casa San Raffaello and Casa Arcangelo, are recently renovated farmhouses each with their own swimming pool, 500 metres from Casa Capezzano, the main farmhouse

What are the characteristics of the Poderi Arcangelo Organic Farm?
The Poderi Arcangelo Organic Farm, founded in 1970, is located on the beautiful hills around San Gimignano, right in the heart of Chianti

The Mora family has been producing wine and extra-virgin olive oil for 3 generations and currently has 25 hectares of autochthonous and organically grown vines. The main production is with Vernaccia San Gimignano DOCG, Trebbiano, Malvasia, Chardonnay and Sangiovese, Colorino, Ciliegiolo, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. We are listed in the most important wine guides and our most prestigious wines, such as Supertuscan Granbaccano IGT and Vernaccia San Gimignano Riserva DOCG, have received international recognition.

What agricultural techniques are used on the Farm?
Our philosophy is that a good farmer leaves the land better than he found it and for this reason we have chosen to implement the organic management of the whole farm since 2000.
The technology that we use in the cellar is of great help for our winemaking techniques using traditional methods

Is it possible to buy organic products from the Poderi Arcangelo Farm?
In the room located next to the reception area, you can buy our own products such as Chianti wine, Vernaccia, different types of IGT wines aged in barrels, as well as organic extra virgin olive oil, but also grappa, spirits and vinsanto.
You can also buy typical local products, strictly from organic farming, such as jams and honey, as well as the entire line of Idea Toscana organic cosmetics made with olive oil.
So that you can take with you the flavours and aromas of Tuscany!

Are tastings organised?
On Saturday afternoons we offer our guests a free tasting of our products. The tasting is also an opportunity to learn about the history of our family, understand the origins of the wine and olive oil that we have been producing for 45 years.
The tastings include the opportunity to try three representative wines, the selection of which may change according to the seasonal and availability and “organic extra virgin olive oil” on “tozzetti” of Tuscan bread.
On the other days it is possible to book private wine tastings with visit to the cellar or complete wine tours with a walking tour of our vineyards, according to availability.

Is it possible to visit the Winery?
Upon reservation we organize guided tours, in Italian and English, combined with tastings of typical products lasting about an hour. A journey that shows us how wine is created, with particular attention to the stages of the production process and vinification, while admiring from above the vineyards that surround our Farmhouses.
Visits to the winery include a tasting of our own products and other typical Tuscan products.

Which are the Cities of Art we can visit? How far are they from Poderi Arcangelo?

• San Gimignano known throughout the world, the beautiful and unique San Gimignano, can be admired from all our gardens and is only 10 minutes by car from Poderi Arcangelo!
  San Gimignano is a medieval town that has remained virtually unchanged over the centuries and is famous for its high towers. If you are in good shape you can reach it on foot (about 10 km) through our picturesque region.
• Certaldo Alto is one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Tuscany, quiet, relaxed and away from mass tourism. Only 5 minutes away by car from Poderi Arcangelo, it can be reached using the convenient funicular that leaves from Piazza Boccaccio every 15 minutes, or by car with convenient parking outside the walls or on foot along a beautiful and quite simple hiking route.
• Monteriggioni just 25 minutes away by car from Poderi Arcangelo, is a rare example of a 13th century European medieval castle which has remained virtually intact with the original walls that surround it.
• Volterra just 40 minutes from Poderi Arcangelo is the beautiful town of Volterra: here historical tradition is combined with splendid natural surroundings, from the landscape to the vegetation and fauna, offering a spectacularly rich natural heritage.
• Siena is one of the most important cities in Tuscany. It’s about 35 minutes drive from Poderi Arcangelo. Train connections every hour from Certaldo station and bus connections from Siena station to the town centre. Train timetables are available free of charge at reception.
• Firenze, cradle of the Renaissance, home of the Italian language, birthplace of famous artists and much more, a perfect destination for an excursion as it is only 50 minutes by car from Poderi Arcangelo, there are also excellent rail connections with trains that depart every hour from Certaldo station. • Lucca, 1 hour and 20 minutes away by car from Poderi Arcangelo, is one of the main Italian cities of art, also famous abroad, due to its intact city walls which were built from the fifteenth to seventeenth century, forming a perimeter of about 4,223 m around the old town and making it one of only four Italian cities to have an intact circle of Renaissance walls, along with Ferrara, Grosseto and Bergamo.
• Pisa and its leaning Tower
  One of the most famous monuments in the world … the Tower of Pisa is only 1 hour from the Poderi Arcangelo Holiday Farm, there are also rail connections with trains that depart from the nearby station of Certaldo.

What’s on offer in the Chianti area in which the Holiday Farm is located?
The Poderi Arcangelo Holiday Farm is located in the heart of the Chianti region, extending over several kilometres in the centre of Tuscany between the provinces of Florence and Siena.
There are numerous wineries that can be visited where you can taste the world-famous Chianti wine.
The Chianti area will give you the opportunity to visit many characteristic places, Radda in Chianti, Gaiole in Chianti, Castellina in Chianti, Greve in Chianti, Panzano in Chianti, Vertine and typical Tuscan castles such as Brolio Castle, Meleto Castle and Verrazzano Castle.

Are there places to visit outside the mass tourism circuit?
Tuscany is full of small villages off the beaten track, enchanted corners and unexplored wonders! Examples include: the beautiful village of Certaldo Alto a short walk from Poderi Arcangelo, the views from the small town of Barberino Val d’Elsa, the Gerusalemme di Toscana a Montaione, the uninhabited Petrognano Semifonte, the dome of Semifonte etc … and the best known: Monteriggioni, Volterra, San Miniato, San Gimignano, Vinci …

• San Galgano Abbey and the Sword in the Rock
  About 1 hour’s drive from Poderi Arcangelo there is a particular and beautiful abbey dating back to the 13th century that owes much of its charm to the absence of the roof and its location in the green Tuscan countryside. A few steps from the abbey, in the Montesiepi Chapel is the sword in the rock which has inspired legends which are intertwined with the saga of the knights of King Arthur!
• Leonardo Museum – Leonardo Da Vinci museum – Vinci
  Scientist, architect, sculptor, painter, technologist, inventor, musician, astronomer, anatomist and more! Leonardo Da Vinci is the man who revolutionised the world with his cutting-edge ideas. Tuscany is a land rich in thermal springs, which are known to provide health benefits!

Is it possible to spend a day at the beach? How far away is it?
Poderi Arcangelo is only about an hour from the Tuscan coast!
Hence there are several famous seaside resorts that can be easily reached during your stay. We’ll mention a few of the most famous ones Cecina, Castiglioncello, Vada, Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi, Marina di Castagneto Carducci-Donoratico, San Vincenzo.

Are there any hiking trails?
The Poderi Arcangelo Holiday Farm is nestled in the green hills of Siena, with numerous hiking trails to choose from. In fact, a short distance from the farm is the Via Francigena, the route that leads from Canterbury to Rome, along the section that runs from the Church of Christ the King in Gambassi Terme to Piazza della Cisterna in San Gimignano, a stage which is easy to walk in about 4 hours over about 13 kilometres.

Are there any bike and mountain bike routes?
Even lovers of two wheels who are staying at our facilities can enjoy several routes which will allow them to discover the Tuscan territory along the winding roads between the cypress trees in the hills of Siena, or go off road with the Mountain Bike along the wildest paths.

Is it possible to rent Vespas and explore the region?
Riding a Vespa Piaggio 125 cc or 300 cc two-seater, on both the main roads and country lanes will leave you with unforgettable memories.
Vespas can also be hired individually, with or without a guide and on request, guides are available for groups and guided tours; documents required: driving license, credit card, document with home address. Booking required.

Is it possible to play golf?
About 30 minutes by car from Poderi Arcangelo you will find the Golf Club Toscana – Montaione, Loc. Castelfalfi with an extension of 1,100 hectares of green fields, vineyards, olive groves and other local crops. In this beautiful natural setting there are two golf courses: the Mountain Course (par 72, 6351 metres) and the Lake Course (par 37, 3171 metres).

Is it possible to take a trip in a hot-air balloon?
Thanks to the Italian Aerostatic Association – Tavarnelle val di Pesa you can experience an exciting balloon flight over the rolling hills of Chianti!
From 2 to 6 passengers; departure at dawn from the base in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, about 20 minutes by car from Poderi Arcangelo. The experience lasts about 3 and a half hours of which about 1 hour is flight time. A tasty breakfast with typical local products awaits you on land. You can fly all year round but not in adverse weather conditions.

Is it possible to take horseback rides?
It is possible to book Walks and excursions on horseback, for one hour, several hours or for the whole day, in the tranquillity of the Tuscan countryside, with it possible to choose between routes with panoramic sights, as well as visits to places of historical and naturalistic interest.
You can also book single lessons, and basic riding courses for adults and children.
For those who don’t want to ride a horse there are hiking excursions. Booking required.

The tourist tax is € 1.50 per day for the first 5 days, and is in force from March to October

American Express cards are accepted, as well as all cards that use the Visa and Mastercard circuit. Diners, JCB and Amex cards are not accepted.
