Gran Baccano Sangiovese IGT Tuscany (red wine)

GranBaccano is the wine with more body and structure that our organic winery Poderi Arcangelo produces. It is a blend composed mainly of the native Tuscan vine Sangiovese, grape used for the production of Chanti, and minor percentages of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. All the grapes come from our vineyards and all vinification process till bottling takes place in our cellar.

The maceration and fermentation of the wine takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. After that, the wine continues aging in French barriques where it remains for at least a year and a half. During the wine tastings we offer to our guests, it is possible to visit the cellar and the Barriccaia, where the French oak barrels of GranBaccano are located. After about 6 months of aging in the bottle, the wine is ready to brighten our palates.

With a ruby red color and an intense aroma, this wine offers spicy notes on the palate with hints of ripe berries and persists in the mouth, leaving an aftertaste of sweet tannins.
This Tuscan IGT is perfect with traditional Tuscan dishes, such as wild boar stew and wild meats in general, but also with our Florentine steak and it goes well with aged pecorino cheeses too.

Vernaccia Riserva

Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG Riserva -“PerBruno”

Dedicated to the father of Sandra, Bruno, who together with his wife Maria started the activity of both organic winery and holidays farmhouse in San Gimignano, this 100% Tuscan white wine from Vernaccia di San Gimignano grapes is one of the flagships of our cellar.
Given its organoleptic characteristics, this Tuscan white vine is suitable for aging in barrels. After the grape harvest made strictly by hand, the wine is macerated briefly in a low-temperature vat and, after light pressing, fermentation continues in cement-glass vats. A part of the wine makes a passage in wood for about sixty days and then it matures in the bottle for a few months.
The result is a wine with a golden yellow color, whose nose releases strong hints of peach and spring blooms, with light notes of honey and vanilla. In the mouth it is elegant, with a good acidity and a mineral note on the final, with a slight aftertaste of bitter almond, typical of this grape variety.

Chianti Colli Senesi wine is produced in one of the sub-areas of the wide Chianti Region, which extends into the territory between the Tuscan provinces of Florence and Siena.

Vinsanto San Gimignano

From a harmonious mix of San Colombano, Malvasia del Chianti and Trebbiano Toscano grapes, the Vinsanto San Gimignano DOC comes to life.
The late harvest in boxes takes place at the end of the harvest period; the grapes are left to dry on cane mats in ventilated rooms until holy week – hence the name Vino Santo

olio d'oliva

Organic Extra virgin Olive Oil

The “Yellow Gold” of the organic winery Poderi Arcangelo is our Extra Virgin Olive Oil, born from a cold pressing that avoids any alteration of the natural organoleptic characteristics of the olive oil in any way.

An elegant and fruity olive oil from the pressing of organic olives, a very important characteristic for us as Organic Farm living and working in total harmony and respect with and for the nature.
The varieties of olives we grow are typical of Tuscany: Correggiolo, Moraiolo, Leccino and Frantoio. The olive harvest is absolutely made by hand and takes place between the end of October and the beginning of November. The olives are pressed within 24 hours from the harvest, to guarantee the total freshness of the final product.
To ensure the highest quality of the product, we only take the first cold-pressed flower and no filtering is made. These attentions contribute to giving our olive oil an acidity that is between 0.1 and 0.2% only. The intense color, with reflections to the green on pressing, turning into straw yellow with time.
The aroma is intense and fruity with an aftertaste of green apple and a delicate flavor, absolutely not fat.
Try it on a Bruschetta of Tuscan bread, it will be love at first taste!
