Our Wines and Olive Oil
Gran Baccano Sangiovese IGT Tuscany (red wine)
GranBaccano is the wine with more body and structure that our organic winery Poderi Arcangelo produces. It is a blend composed mainly of the native Tuscan vine Sangiovese, grape used for the production of Chanti, and minor percentages of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. All the grapes come from our vineyards and all vinification process till bottling takes place in our cellar.
The maceration and fermentation of the wine takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. After that, the wine continues aging in French barriques where it remains for at least a year and a half. During the wine tastings we offer to our guests, it is possible to visit the cellar and the Barriccaia, where the French oak barrels of GranBaccano are located. After about 6 months of aging in the bottle, the wine is ready to brighten our palates.
With a ruby red color and an intense aroma, this wine offers spicy notes on the palate with hints of ripe berries and persists in the mouth, leaving an aftertaste of sweet tannins.
This Tuscan IGT is perfect with traditional Tuscan dishes, such as wild boar stew and wild meats in general, but also with our Florentine steak and it goes well with aged pecorino cheeses too.
Chianti D.O.C.G. Riserva 2015 “Il Cantastorie”
Cantastorie is a wine made from Sangiovese grapes with a ruby red color, round and structured with aromatic and floral fragrances, which our organic winery Poderi Arcangelo has been producing since long time.
This wine comes from handmade harvest of the grapes at the beginning of October, followed by a soft pressing and a long maceration, with selected yeasts, in small steel tanks.
After this first phase the wine ages for about 1 year in oak barrels and before reaching the table it has ageing in the bottle for at least 6 months.
Tuscan tannic Sangiovese, with its intense and elegant aftertaste, blends well with savory dishes such as wild meat, but it is excellent when combined with medium-aged cheeses.

Vernaccia San Gimignano DOCG Selection – Terra del Lago
The selection of grapes “Terra del Lago “ is the white wine that our organic winery Poderi Arcangelo produces using 90% Vernaccia di San Gimignano and 10% Chardonnay grapes.
The grapes are harvested early in the morning to avoid the hottest hours of the day. During the transfer of the grapes’ cases from the vineyard to the cellar, dry ice is always used to avoid heating of the grapes and preserve the future bouquet of the wine, which must be intense and fruity at the same time. The fermentation of this Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG takes place in steel tanks at a temperature of 16-18 degrees with selected yeasts. The alcohol content that can be reached ranges from 13-13.50%.
The color is straw yellow, typical of the Vernaccia di San Gimignano grape, with a fine and persistent aroma, at nose can be recognized scents of peach, broom and honey, while in mouth it is fresh, sapid and elegant.
Taste it at a temperature of 8 ° -10 ° not only as an aperitif, but it is particularly suitable in combination with fish dishes with shellfish.
Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG Riserva -“PerBruno”
Dedicated to the father of Sandra, Bruno, who together with his wife Maria started the activity of both organic winery and holidays farmhouse in San Gimignano, this 100% Tuscan white wine from Vernaccia di San Gimignano grapes is one of the flagships of our cellar.
Given its organoleptic characteristics, this Tuscan white vine is suitable for aging in barrels. After the grape harvest made strictly by hand, the wine is macerated briefly in a low-temperature vat and, after light pressing, fermentation continues in cement-glass vats. A part of the wine makes a passage in wood for about sixty days and then it matures in the bottle for a few months.
The result is a wine with a golden yellow color, whose nose releases strong hints of peach and spring blooms, with light notes of honey and vanilla. In the mouth it is elegant, with a good acidity and a mineral note on the final, with a slight aftertaste of bitter almond, typical of this grape variety.
On the table it goes well with elaborated fish dishes, but it is also excellent with roast meats and aged pecorino cheeses.

Chianti Colli Senesi wine is produced in one of the sub-areas of the wide Chianti Region, which extends into the territory between the Tuscan provinces of Florence and Siena.

As can be inferred from the name, it will add a touch of color to the wine itself.
The grapes will then macerate in steel vats. Adding selected yeasts, the wine begins fermentation in steel tanks at a controlled temperature.
After bottling, the wine continues its aging for several months before being ready to be tasted.
This process gives rise to a wine with an intense ruby color, a good harmonic structure and strong tannins. As scents, it gives fruity hints with light floral notes.

Vinsanto San Gimignano
From a harmonious mix of San Colombano, Malvasia del Chianti and Trebbiano Toscano grapes, the Vinsanto San Gimignano DOC comes to life.
The late harvest in boxes takes place at the end of the harvest period; the grapes are left to dry on cane mats in ventilated rooms until holy week – hence the name Vino Santo
The healthy grains are then crushed and pressed and the must is initially put into small wooden barrels, then decanted into 2-3 hectolitre sealed oak casks, where it will remain for at least 3 years.
During this time while the Vinsanto takes shape, neither decanting nor filling is carried out; at the end of ageing time, this liqueur wine, which reaches about 17.50% of alcohol content, is ready to reach the tables.
Typical Tuscan wine offered in the country tradition as a welcome to guests and ideal in combination with desserts such as almond cantucci, but also excellent with cheeses such as pecorino di fossa and spicy gorgonzola.

Organic Extra virgin Olive Oil
The “Yellow Gold” of the organic winery Poderi Arcangelo is our Extra Virgin Olive Oil, born from a cold pressing that avoids any alteration of the natural organoleptic characteristics of the olive oil in any way.
An elegant and fruity olive oil from the pressing of organic olives, a very important characteristic for us as Organic Farm living and working in total harmony and respect with and for the nature.
The varieties of olives we grow are typical of Tuscany: Correggiolo, Moraiolo, Leccino and Frantoio. The olive harvest is absolutely made by hand and takes place between the end of October and the beginning of November. The olives are pressed within 24 hours from the harvest, to guarantee the total freshness of the final product.
To ensure the highest quality of the product, we only take the first cold-pressed flower and no filtering is made. These attentions contribute to giving our olive oil an acidity that is between 0.1 and 0.2% only. The intense color, with reflections to the green on pressing, turning into straw yellow with time.
The aroma is intense and fruity with an aftertaste of green apple and a delicate flavor, absolutely not fat.
Try it on a Bruschetta of Tuscan bread, it will be love at first taste!
